Stay Awake! Dream!

Here comes the new year of our life. This is another challenge ahead of us. Another period of finding and hopefully, achieving the selves that we want to become.
So, how do we start our year right?

The beat of life starts when you dream. Thus, when you stop dreaming, you stop breathing. While we don't know when our life will end, let's go dreamin! The new generation is wide awake. And we belong. We belong to yuppies finding even a temporary satisfaction and sheer joy in that new found window being opened and provided for looking at greater views of different perspectives in life. And so, as we go on with life looking in that window, we must not just be contented with our status quo. We must dream to reach out since life is short, so we dare to stay awake for it!

Last night, I attended an inspiring seminar at Lifebeat Cafe with two of my co-officemates. I was seated comfortably in that dark blue couch, served with tea, coffee and pastries. The room was cozy and the atmosphere is pleasant. I felt relaxed and I just opened my mind - ever ready to receive new learnings, new inspirations. The speaker whom the team called as Life Coach Gerry or Coach Gerry was enthusiastic and he had a good rapport with the audience.

And so I learn that life is short, we should stay awake for it! We must dream and dreaming should start now, while we are young and very able. We must do things where we are good at, reflect on what is our purpose, where do we excel, to put into realization our dream of becoming excellent in our fields, so as to fully manifest our talents and skills purposefully. And that's the time we can say that we are fulfilled - thus, that becomes our foundation to succeed and achieve our dreams.

Aside from that, we must also focus on starting to shift the paradigms of our dream. Sometimes, people would imitate others. Looking others' achievement as basis of theirs. So it's like saying, "He's rich. I wanna get rich too." "So he's a lawyer. I can be a lawyer too." This is definitely an unhealthy perspective. When we dream, it basically starts from ourselves and what, who we want to become thus it is based predominantly on what we have discerned - a by product of our creative plans, not to mention knowing what we are possible of doing. Because we already know what are our abilities, that is, only if we trust and believe in ourselves. Self-esteem, that is, the main agenda there.

One of the presentation that is very inspiring is the video ad by Honda. As we all know it, the tagline that goes "The Power of Your Dreams", is not just a simple tagline. It relatively translates to the compelling power of positively achieving our dreams, that dreams are within reach as we are willing to work it!
